A hive of activity has taken over the former sedate ‘Pride of Place’ shop in the Main Street of Killin as the Davidsons Chemist opening nears. They continue to renovate the property ahead of their planned April 2014 opening date.
Permission was granted to allow Davidson to open a pharmacy in Killin despite a strong local rejection. FVHB received 116 letters opposing the application and also received a petition signed by 800 like minded people, supporting their local medical practice who have looked after the village for so long.
Dr Syme of Killin Medical Practice told Highland Perthshire News and Comment that he is “very concerned that the introduction of this new facility would have a negative impact on healthcare in the area. He said that the loss of the drug dispensing system would result in a decline in income at the practice which would, in turn, require a reduction from three to two doctors, a longer waiting time and reduced services for patients.”
There is currently an advert for a part time pharmacy assistant role in the window of the new premises. For more information contact their head office on 01250 872308 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
