Each November during the past three years, Killin Breadalbane Angling Club have hosted a night out for the village in the McLaren Hall with a full four-course formal dinner (which has invariably received excellent feedback from all who attended), followed by a great ceilidh dance to music provided by the inimitable Fergie MacDonald. On each occasion, we’ve had (more or less) a full house with every individual in the hall right in the mood for a big night and the dance floor choc-a-bloc from start to finish.

The Club will be organising another event for November 2009 … and why change a good thing? ……we’ve booked the same venue, the same caterers and the same band and we’re confident that the event will attract a great turnout of angling club members and locals – so there’s every reason to believe that we’re in for another cracking evening.

    The key details –
    When: Saturday 14th November 2009 (6:30pm)
    Where: McLaren Hall, Killin
Music: Fergie Mac Donald & his Ceilidh Band

The evening will follow pretty much the same format as the previous events
    – The Event – a formal dinner for approximately 150 guests , followed by a ceilidh dance (which is open to those who simply wish to come along for a bit of exercise and a few drams)
    – The Cost – Full Dinner & Dance – £25; Dance Only (Pre-booked) – £7.50; Dance Only ( Door charge) – £10.00
    – The Timescale – roughly along the following lines:-
    6:30pm – 7:00pm Pre-dinner welcome
    7:00pm – 9:15pm Formal dinner
    9:15pm – 9:30pm Trophy presentation
    9:30pm – 01:00am Ceilidh dance

IMPORTANT: All are welcome, irrespective of whether they are club members, locals, non-locals. This event has proved extremely popular in the past three years and in order to ensure that you get a seat, early booking of tickets is definitely recommended! Anyone wishing to obtain further information should contact Gerry McCarron – Tel: 01567 820833

Requests for tickets should be made to –

Once again this was a fantastic evening with the whole company mixing and enjoying themselves.
Being the only formal Dinner Dance in the area, and although hosted by the Angling Club it is primerally a night for the village to come together in the true spirit of the community.
This came to the fore in 2009 when the village lost three well known locals within a few hours and as the company prepared for the evening we stood and toasted our departed friends.
Now well established as the foremost event in the village, the evening will continue so make a note in your 2010 diary to book your seat.

    Hon. President
