It is with deep regret that I report (in case you hadn’t noticed) that the hole-in-the-wall machine outside the co-op has been removed. Please spare a moment of your time in mourning the loss of a big friend of mine (where else are visitors to get their cash, apart from the Bank of Scotland machine?).

Just because your not paranoid it doesn’t mean that no-one is out to get you.

Yes, a definite backward step for the Co-op! As is the current stocking policy of the shop.
I’m down at the Co-op AGM next weekend and would be delighted to take any complaints, comments or opinions to share with them

Does anyone know why they have taken it out?

The short answer appears to be ‘economics’.
I did bring up the subject with their Financial Services representative who, to be honest, seemed unaware of the problem. However I have been promised an answer as to why it has been removed and whether ‘community need’ was taken into account.
It isn’t the only one, I gather that the Aberfeldy one has done a moonlight flit as well!
I have a feeling that they could justifiably point out that if ‘you don’t use it, you lose it’, like Post Offices and local shops!
I will let you know when I get the ‘official’ reason.
In the meantime could I ask, do any of you actually bank with the Co-op?
