I wasn’t sure who to ask about this so I thought I would ask the experts i.e. the people who live in and around Killin.

My father in law is doing his last munro next weekend and to say congratulations, friends and family are all heading to Killin for the weekend.

Various people are staying in hotels and some of us were keen to camp(small tent). Looking on the web we couldn’t find anywhere in or close by Killin to camp with the kids. Two out of the three sites don’t allow tents or children.

Can I ask if there is anywhere, either wild camping or on a site in walking distance (kids) to Killin?

Anybody got a small corner of a field?

    Thanks for your help.

    Great site

Hi, cant really help you as it is a long time since my friend’s and I used to go to Killin and camp { early 70’s } but we used to camp on the shores of Loch Tay.

We would walk from there down a kind of wooded track and then over a bridge into Killin, think that the bridge was close to McLaren hall where we went to the disco.

I know this doesent help much but it was a lovely place to camp.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and congratulations to your father in law…Ronnie.
