Good day, I am searching for my Fisher ancestors. Hopefully someone in Killin will be able to find something for me.
My ancestor Donald Fisher b.before 1757 Killin,Perthshire,Scotland apparently served in Canada with the 77th Regiment of Foot.
He was apparently an uncle to Alexander and Finlay Fisher who emigrated to Canada as well around the 1770’s.
I am trying to find imformation on Donald’s family; parents, siblings, grandparents etc.

Would anyone out there have access to these old records? if any

Any old family stories of those Fishers’ who stayed in Scotland?

Thanking you ahead of time for your help.

    ,Mitchell Watson

It is probably a long shot but I have a good friend called Iain Fisher whose family came from the Glen Lyon area near Killin. He now lives in Perth as I do.
You never know there may be a family connection.
    His E mail address is

    Cheers Mitchell Watson

Thanks Mitchell, I’ll take any information I can at this point. It makes it difficult when you’re worlds away! I know that there has to be someone out there who’ll know the family history.

Hello Im related to the Fishers from Glenlyon and further back ive found i may be a decendant of Alexander Fisher brother of Finlay Fisher both were baptized in 1756 in Killin, Father was John Fisher and Mother Mary Campbell and lived at a farm called Midlise.

Most excellent to find a “maybe” distant cousin that far away. My Donald was uncle to Alexander and Finlay, brother to John Fisher. Any idea who Donald and John’s parents etc were, where they grew up.
I would love to hear stories or pictures or anything. I would love to visit Scotland myself but unfortunately would have to win a lottery in order to afford the trip! Any information would be wonderful to have.
