Been thinking of your wonderful village. We ordered 2 DVDs that gave us 6 hours of Scotland scenery. One was “Islands of Scotland” and the other was “Mountains of Scotland”. They make us crave to return to the most beautiful country on earth.

After some discussion we decided to try for one more trip. We have our 50th wedding anniversary coming up in 2011 and think this would be the best way to celebrate. We have done a tour and a self-drive so this time we want to just stay in one centrally located place and make day trips to areas we most want to see. We have no interest in the cities. We want mountains and water. But no hiking. The Highlands are heaven on earth as far as we are concerned. Both of us want to see the John O’Goats area and Mull.

I spoke to Fiona via email and told her we would be interested in staying in Killin either at a hotel or B&B and would also like to find out if it is possible to hire someone by the day to drive, or guide, us to the areas we want to see. For us those roundabouts are killers!! But I think we can get from Glasgow Airport to Killin without wrecking the car. If anyone is interested we can speak further. After all, we still have 2 1/2 years ……. if our health holds.

Our anniversary is mid-April but we could delay the trip into May when weather is more agreeable.

Any information you folks can offer would be greatly appreciated.
